🍣 Kappo Kappo – French-Japanese Chef’s Tasting Experience

Located inside the Austin Proper Hotel, Kappo Kappo brings an intimate Japanese kappo-style dining experience blended with French technique. Led by twin chefs Haru and Gohei Kishi and features an 11-course seasonal tasting menu served at the chef’s counter in a beautifully designed space. Expect wagyu, pristine seafood, and thoughtfully crafted pairings in a personal, interactive setting. 

🍤 Austin Oyster Co. – Coastal Seafood & Oysters

A beloved pop-up is going brick-and-mortar on Cesar Chavez with Gulf oysters, crudos, lobster rolls, creative small plates, and a full bar — a must-try for seafood lovers this spring.  

🍷 Poeta – Italian Dining with Natural Wine

Recently opened on E. 6th St., Poeta offers house-made pastas, shareable Italian plates, and a thoughtful natural wine list in an intimate, neighborhood setting. 

🥗 Ēma – Mediterranean Inspired

Now open in Domain Northside, Ēma serves fresh, vegetable-forward Mediterranean plates and mezze with a breezy indoor/outdoor vibe — great for lunch or dinner any day of the week.  

🏈 Austin Sports Club – Elevated Dining + Sports Culture

Coming Spring 2026 to downtown Austin, Austin Sports Club blends elevated comfort food with a lively, game-day atmosphere. Backed by NBA star Kevin Durant, the concept aims to be a destination for food, drinks, and sports culture with multiple viewing areas and a social club vibe.

 Black Sheep Coffee – Bold Espresso & Pastries

Opened in January 2026 at W. 6th & Guadalupe, this London-based coffee shop serves strong espresso drinks, pastries, and grab-and-go fare — perfect for a caffeine fix downtown. 

This year’s openings reflect Austin’s growing culinary diversity, from refined chef’s tasting menus to lively social clubs and neighborhood favorites. Many new spots combine design-forward interiors and global flavors that appeal to both locals and visitors alike. 2026 promises to keep Austin at the forefront of Texas cuisine.
